Google eSIM settings you need when you land

When you arrive overseas

Do these things when you land:

1. Open Settings > Tap Network and Internet > SIMs
2. If you can see a "Mobile Data" switch ensure it is enabled
3. Scroll to the bottom if you see "Your Primary SIMs" make sure Mobile Data is set to your Travel eSIM (if you can't see this option it's fine)
4. Select your eSIM plan > Enable Data roaming (on some models you may see Mobile Data here, if so, turn it on)
5. Turn on flight mode, wait 30 seconds, turn it off again

Once you do the above you should be able to connect, note it can take up to 15 minutes to find the network in a new country for the very first time.

Still not connected? Add an APN

Google Pixels can be a little funny with Travel eSIMs and sometimes they need an additional setting called an APN (or Access point name) added.

If you're unable to connect we recommend adding an APN to your settings by following these instructions:

1. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Select your eSIM
2. On the next screen scroll down to tap on Access Point Names
3. Tap the + (plus) sign to add a new APN in the top corner
4. In the APN and name fields, enter globaldata. Delete any entries in the username or password fields.
5. Return to the previous screen and select the new APN.
6. Enable flight mode, wait 30 seconds and disable it again

Do not scan the QR code again

If you already have the eSIM installed like we confirmed above you do not need to scan the QR code again, this will display an error which will tell you the QR code has been used already since the eSIM is already installed.

The eSIM will activate automatically

You do not need to do anything to "Activate" the eSIM provided it is installed already and you have followed the instructions above for when you land it should be all gravy.
