The nitty gritty
Brazil eSIM FAQs
Traditional calls and SMS aren’t part of our Brazil eSIM packages - they’re strictly data/internet. To talk or text, use internet based services (WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.) with your eSIM data.
Yes! Your Brazil eSIM can be installed as early as 30 days before you travel. It won’t start until you touch down in Brazil.
Installing beforehand means no setup stress on arrival, and it won’t use any data or days until you land.
If you get an activation warning on iPhone when installing before arriving, that’s normal - check our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide for details.
No, these eSIMs only provide data access and do not assign you a phone number. To make calls, you will need to use internet based apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger.
Your eSIM will activate automatically when you arrive in Brazil. Though we recommend installing your Brazil Travel eSIM before you arrive (this is different to activating).
To do this, scan the QR code we provide or install the eSIM directly from the ZenSim app while connected to WiFi. Once you arrive in Brazil, your eSIM will activate automatically.
If you encounter any issues check out our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact us directly ☺️
If installed before your trip, it will activate when you land in Brazil.
If installed after arrival, it goes live right away.
Having issues? Check our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact us for assistance.
Absolutely - using a travel eSIM beats roaming in Brazil for several reasons:
Cost Efficiency: Our Brazil local data rates are much cheaper than pay-as-you-go roaming fees.
Instant Activation: No need to wait for a SIM card; your eSIM goes live as soon as you land.
Data Visibility: Monitor exactly how much you’ve consumed, so there are no hidden surprises on your bill.
Not until you land in Brazil. Installing ahead won’t start your plan; it goes live automatically when you arrive.
Make sure to install before you travel, as WiFi is required for setup and this way your Brazil eSIM will be ready to use when you land.
If you encounter connection issues, see our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact support.
Absolutely! ZenSim’s eSIMs work in over 200 countries, and Brazil is one of them. We also have regional eSIMs that cover several nations on a single plan - check out our Travel eSIMs page for details.
Connection Problems: If your Brazil eSIM isn’t loading data, check our troubleshooting post. If that doesn’t do it, contact us and we’ll get you fixed up.
Installation Questions: Need help installing your eSIM? Visit our how-to guide, or shoot us a message at Contact Us and we’ll sort it out.
Anything Else: Got other queries? Visit our contact page and we’ll be right with you.
Yep! 99% of our eSIMs can be topped up within the ZenSim app with just a couple of clicks. If you run out of data, need more days, or you even want to add a new destination to the same eSIM, you can do all of this in the top up section in the Zen Garden in the app.
Log into the app, navigate to the Zen Garden to find your Brazil service, and you will see a button to up your eSIM right there.
Top up plan options: Brazil top up plans are the same as the plans on the website except with a 10% discount!
Extending a long trip: If you're travelling to Brazil for more than 30 days, you can add as many top ups as you need to your first eSIM to extend the days and data you have. Each top up will only take effect when the previous eSIM is expired so you can purchase the top ups any time you want without worrying about overwriting your existing plan.
Multi country top ups: You can now add multiple countries to most of our eSIMs via top up, so if you're in Europe for example and are stopping over in Dubai on the way home, you can add a Dubai top up to your Europe eSIM so you don't need to reinstall anything. Alternate country top ups will only activate when you arrive in the new country.
Not exactly. Once your Brazil eSIM is active, it’s tied to that country.
If you're visiting more than one place, our regional Travel eSIMs offer broader coverage so you can roam freely across multiple destinations.
You bet there is! Once you purchase an Brazil eSIM you will be able to access your unique referral URL which you can share with your travel buds.
If they click the URL and purchase a plan they will save A$5 on their order and you will receive a A$5 voucher on your account which will be automatically applied on your next purchase (provided they are a new customer of course).
You can track your referrals and access your referral URL in the ZenSim app. Check out our terms for more info.
It might, but only if you're on an unlimited plan and only after you pass 3GB in a single day - which is well above what most people actually use (under 1GB a day on average).
Once you hit that 3GB mark, your speed drops to 1Mbps until midnight, then resets back to full speed for the new day.
If you're on a fixed-data plan like 10GB or 20GB, none of this applies - there's no daily limit, just use your data as needed until the plan runs out. We'll notify you beforehand, and you can top up right away in the ZenSim app.
Your plan won't start using data or counting down days until you actually arrive in Brazil - so there's zero risk in installing it early.
As long as you've already installed your eSIM, it'll automatically activate the moment you land, and that's when your days and data officially kick off.
From there, your eSIM expires when either your data or your days run out, whichever comes first (unless you're on an unlimited plan, in which case it's purely down to the days). So if you grab a 30-day plan, it'll run out 30 days after you arrive in Brazil, not 30 days from when you bought it.
Quickest way to check is through our eSIM compatibility checker - it'll let you know in seconds if your phone plays nicely with our Brazil eSIM and the networks it runs on.
If anything's unclear or you'd rather double check with a human, reach out to us anytime. And if your phone ends up not being compatible, you're covered by our refund policy - full refund, no hassle - so it's worth just giving it a go.
You're covered - our 100% money back guarantee exists for exactly this situation.
Trip cancelled? Phone not eSIM-compatible? Plans changed and you just don't need it anymore? All of these are covered.
The full details sit in our refund policy, but in short: if you can't install or use the eSIM, we'll give you a full refund. You shouldn't have to pay for something you can't use.
