Thailand eSIM: Sorted Before You Even Land

An eSIM for Thailand that avoids roaming fees

ZenSim's Thailand travel eSIM gives you affordable prepaid mobile data the moment you land, so you can avoid roaming fees and the horror-story bill waiting for you when you get home. Whether you're a first-time tourist, a business traveller with back-to-back meetings, or a digital nomad working from a beach in Krabi, there's a plan built for how you actually travel.

Instant QR code or one-tap install, no shop queues involved

Buy your eSIM for Thailand online before you fly, then install it in a couple of minutes by scanning the QR code we send you, or skip needing a second device and install with one tap straight through the ZenSim app instead. No physical SIM swap required, so your existing SIM stays right where it is, and your new eSIM handles the data as a separate line.

Auto-activates the second you land

You don't need to remember to switch anything on. Your Thailand eSIM auto-activates on arrival, so you can go straight from the plane to Google Maps without hunting for airport WiFi. Update your settings once (we email you exactly what to do), and you're connected for maps, messaging, socials and everything else you need on the ground.

Powered by Thailand's best local networks

Your ZenSim eSIM connects to AIS, giving you a reliable 4G and 5G signal in the places travellers actually go, from Bangkok's BTS lines to the beaches of Krabi and the mountains around Chiang Mai. No hunting for signal or relying on patchy hotel WiFi, just solid mobile data in Thailand wherever your trip takes you.

Mobile data in Thailand from Bangkok to the islands

Your ZenSim eSIM Thailand plan isn't limited to one city. It covers popular spots like Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi and the islands, riding on reliable local networks so you can navigate the BTS, book a longtail boat, or find your hostel in Chiang Mai's old town without losing signal. Sorting out your route first? Our best eSIM for Thailand guide breaks down what to look for before you buy.

Flexible data, including unlimited plans

Quick island-hopping trip or a few months working remotely? ZenSim's Thailand travel eSIM comes in flexible prepaid options for 5, 15 or 30 days, starting from as little as 1GB right up to unlimited data. So you're never stuck paying for data you'll never use, or stressing about hitting a cap mid-trip. Running low? Topping up more data or days is a couple of taps away in the ZenSim app.

Top 3 Things to Do in Thailand

1. Explore Bangkok's Grand Palace and Wat Arun

ZenSim

Bangkok throws a lot at first-time visitors, and the Grand Palace is where most people rightly start. Built in 1782 as the official residence of the Kings of Siam, the complex is a sprawl of gleaming spires, intricate mosaics and gold-leafed rooftops that somehow still manages to feel more like a living monument than a museum piece. Inside the grounds, Wat Phra Kaew houses the revered Emerald Buddha, one of the most sacred objects in Thai Buddhism, and it's worth taking your time here rather than rushing the courtyards.

Just across the Chao Phraya River sits Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, easily reached by a short and cheap ferry ride from near the palace. Its central prang is decorated with thousands of tiny porcelain fragments that catch the light differently depending on the time of day, and climbing partway up the steep steps rewards you with sweeping views back over the river and the old city skyline.

Around both sites, the surrounding Rattanakosin district is dense with smaller temples, street food stalls and canal-side neighbourhoods worth wandering through once the main crowds thin out. Few places pack this much of Thailand's royal and religious history into such a walkable stretch of riverfront.

2. Unwind on Railay Beach, Krabi

ZenSim

Cut off from the mainland by towering limestone cliffs, Railay Beach is only reachable by longtail boat, which keeps it feeling worlds away from the pace of Bangkok despite being part of the Krabi coastline. The dramatic karst formations that wrap around the peninsula are what draw serious rock climbers from all over the world, with routes suited to complete beginners right up to seasoned pros, many of them finishing with a direct view out over the Andaman Sea.

If climbing isn't your thing, the beaches alone are worth the trip. Railay East is quieter and lined with laid-back bars, while Railay West and Phra Nang Beach offer the kind of turquoise water and powder-white sand that make this stretch of coast so photographed. A short walk or kayak paddle also gets you to hidden lagoons and viewpoints tucked inside the cliffs, including the Phra Nang Cave, where locals leave offerings for good fortune at sea.

Whether you're spending a single afternoon or basing yourself here for a few days, Railay is one of those spots in Thailand where the geography does most of the work, and it rarely disappoints.

3. Wander Chiang Mai's Old City Temples

ZenSim

Chiang Mai moves at a noticeably slower pace than Bangkok, and nowhere is that more obvious than inside its moated Old City, where more than thirty temples sit within walking distance of one another. Wat Phra Singh is one of the most important, home to a highly revered Buddha image and some of the finest examples of classic Lanna-style architecture in northern Thailand. Nearby, Wat Chedi Luang centres on a massive, partially ruined chedi that once stood as one of the tallest structures in the entire kingdom.

For the best view of the city, head just outside town to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, perched on a mountainside a short drive from the centre. The climb up its golden staircase, flanked by a naga serpent balustrade, leads to a shimmering chedi and a lookout that takes in the whole Chiang Mai valley below, especially rewarding around sunset.

Back in the Old City, the temples sit alongside night markets, cafes housed in converted teak buildings, and quiet lanes that invite slow, aimless exploring. Between the history, the food and the mountains on the horizon, Chiang Mai offers a side of Thailand that feels distinctly different from its beaches and big-city energy.
