The nitty gritty
Myanmar eSIM FAQs
These eSIMs don’t include voice minutes - data only. For any calling or texting, you’ll need to rely on VoIP or messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, or Messenger.
Yes! Your Myanmar eSIM can be installed as early as 30 days before you travel. It won’t start until you touch down in Myanmar.
Installing beforehand means no setup stress on arrival, and it won’t use any data or days until you land.
If you get an activation warning on iPhone when installing before arriving, that’s normal - check our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide for details.
No, our Myanmar travel eSIMs do not include any phone number - they strictly provide internet data. For calls, use data - driven apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, or Facetime.
Your eSIM will activate automatically when you arrive in Myanmar. Though we recommend installing your Myanmar Travel eSIM before you arrive (this is different to activating).
To do this, scan the QR code we provide or install the eSIM directly from the ZenSim app while connected to WiFi. Once you arrive in Myanmar, your eSIM will activate automatically.
If you encounter any issues check out our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact us directly ☺️
If installed before your trip, it will activate when you land in Myanmar.
If installed after arrival, it goes live right away.
Having issues? Check our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact us for assistance.
Hands down, a travel eSIM beats roaming in Myanmar. Here’s why:
Cheaper Data: Pay local prices rather than roaming surcharges from your home network.
Instant Setup: No waiting for physical SIM delivery - your eSIM is ready the minute you land.
Full Expense Control: Track data usage and spending in - app, so you avoid surprise fees.
Not until you land in Myanmar. Installing ahead won’t start your plan; it goes live automatically when you arrive.
Make sure to install before you travel, as WiFi is required for setup and this way your Myanmar eSIM will be ready to use when you land.
If you encounter connection issues, see our eSIM Troubleshooting Guide or contact support.
Of course! At ZenSim, we offer eSIMs that support over 200+ destinations, including Myanmar. On top of this we also provide regional eSIMs which cover multiple countries within one eSIM, please see our Travel eSIMs page for more info on these.
Signal & Connectivity: If you’re stuck without data, follow our detailed troubleshooting guide. If issues persist, contact support and we’ll fix it promptly.
Install Assistance: For help installing, consult our installation walkthrough. Still need help? Reach out and we’ll guide you step by step.

Absolutely. Nearly all of our Travel eSIMs can be extended directly inside the ZenSim app in just a few taps. You can top up extra data, more days, or even include an additional country on the same eSIM, you’ll find everything in the Zen Garden top up section.
Just sign in, head to the Zen Garden, and you’ll spot the option to top up your eSIM straight away.
Top up plan details: The Myanmar options mirror the website plans, with an added 10% savings.
Longer trips: If your adventure goes beyond 30 days, you can stack as many top ups as you like. Each one activates only after the previous plan ends, so you can buy them in advance without affecting your current eSIM.
Add more countries: Many of our eSIMs now support multi country top ups. For example, if you're using a Europe eSIM and have a stopover in Dubai, simply add a Dubai top up and it will activate automatically when you land without needing a new installation.
Not exactly. Once your Myanmar eSIM is active, it’s tied to that country.
If you're visiting more than one place, our regional Travel eSIMs offer broader coverage so you can roam freely across multiple destinations.
Very true! Not only that, you can refer as many people as you like to buy our Myanmar eSIM, you'll earn a A$5 voucher for each referral - and they will also save A$5 on their order.
There's a couple of things to be aware of, firstly they have to be a new customer for this to apply, and you as the referrer can only use one A$5 voucher per order if you happen to refer a whole lot of friends.
You can view your referral performance and grab your referral URL in the ZenSim app. Visit our terms for more info.
It might, but only if you're on an unlimited plan and only after you pass 3GB in a single day - which is well above what most people actually use (under 1GB a day on average).
Once you hit that 3GB mark, your speed drops to 1Mbps until midnight, then resets back to full speed for the new day.
If you're on a fixed-data plan like 10GB or 20GB, none of this applies - there's no daily limit, just use your data as needed until the plan runs out. We'll notify you beforehand, and you can top up right away in the ZenSim app.
There's no fixed start date the moment you buy it - your plan sits dormant until you actually arrive in Myanmar, so buying and installing it early doesn't cost you any data or days.
Once you land, provided the eSIM is already installed, it activates automatically and that's your official start date.
Your expiry date follows on from there - the plan ends once either your data or your days run out, whichever comes first (or just the days, if you're on unlimited). So a 30-day plan expires 30 days after you land in Myanmar, regardless of when you originally bought it.
Quickest way to check is through our eSIM compatibility checker - it'll let you know in seconds if your phone plays nicely with our Myanmar eSIM and the networks it runs on.
If anything's unclear or you'd rather double check with a human, reach out to us anytime. And if your phone ends up not being compatible, you're covered by our refund policy - full refund, no hassle - so it's worth just giving it a go.
We've got a 100% money back guarantee for exactly this kind of situation.
That covers trip cancellations, phones that turn out not to be eSIM-compatible, or just a change of plans that means you no longer need it.
Our full refund policy spells it all out, but the short version is: unable to install or use the eSIM means a full refund, every time.
