How much data do you need in Bali?

Your data needs depend less on how long you're away and more on what you do with your phone. As a rough guide, navigation, Grab and messaging use very little, often only a couple of hundred megabytes a day. Social media is the big one - scrolling Reels or TikTok can chew through well over 1GB an hour, and uploading videos adds up fast.

Just keep in mind that the 3GB daily high-speed allowance is shared across every device connected to your hotspot. For a family of four who all like to scroll, separate plans or a 40GB plan shared between two phones usually works out better.

Bali eSIM coverage from Canggu to Nusa Penida

Your Bali eSIM connects to Telkomsel, Indosat and 3, and your phone automatically picks the strongest signal wherever you are. Telkomsel in particular is widely known as the strongest network in Bali and across Indonesia, and not every travel eSIM provider gives you access to it. Coverage is excellent in the main tourist areas including Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Uluwatu, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Ubud.

Does Bali have 5G?

Yes, Bali has 5G, and yes, your beach club videos will upload faster for it. Telkomsel has rolled out 5G across parts of the island, mostly in the busier southern areas around Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak and Nusa Dua.
